I listen to music everyday, and often – frequently – listen to music while I write. Lately, this has been a good chunk of my writing soundtrack:

Bjork – Greatest Hits
Some of my favorite Bjork songs are included in this compilation: “Joga,” “All is Full of Love,” “Army of Me,” and “Pagan Poetry.”

Jill Scott – Experience: Jill Scott 826+
I’m here for the second disc, where she sings on “Gotta Get Up (Another Day):” “I don’t want to go to work today/I’d rather stay home and play video games/I wanna chill.” Or maybe write and dream.

Santigold – Santigold
If “L.E.S. Artistes” and “Creator” don’t feel like writer/artist anthems…

Black Swan Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Sometimes, other people’s words are distracting. So I turn to Clint Mansell and the very wonderful, evocative score from the film Black Swan.
